Al-Nassr Instagram Followers Grow 737% in 4 Days After Ronaldo Signing

It has been only three days since Al-Nassr FC has announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo and the Saudi club has already started reaping the benefits at least on social media.

The Riyadh-based football powerhouse announced the signing of the 37-year-old Portuguese free agent on December 31^st, 2022 for two seasons in a deal reported to be worth around USD $200 million per year.

Both Ronaldo and Al-Nassr share the news on their respective social media accounts: “This is more than history in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. The Instagram post garnered over 32 million likes and a million comments, but that was not all, Al-Nassr’s official social media accounts saw a surge in followers with their Instagram page growing from almost 860 thousand followers on Friday December 30^th, 2022 to a whooping 7.3 million followers by January 3^rd, 2023. That is a growth of 737% in less than four days.

This tremendous growth was not only seen on Instagram, but also on Al-Nassr’s official Twitter account, which grew by 345% from 830,000 followers to 3.7 million followers in the same time frame.  

Ronaldo, a five-time FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, arrived in Riyadh with his family to join nine-time Saudi Professional League winners Al-Nassr on Monday January 2^nd and if the past few days are any indication, his impact will be felt both on and off the field.
