Bachchan dazzles with two contrasting couture looks — from mermaid-style glamour to minimalist black silk sophistication.

Bollywood icon Aishwarya Rai Bachchan graced the opening night of the Red Sea Film Festival 2025 in Jeddah with not one, but two show-stopping looks that confirmed her status as a global fashion force. From shimmering embroidery to minimalist silk, her style choices dominated headlines and social media alike.

At the festival’s premiere on Thursday evening, Aishwarya first stunned in a custom white-and-black gown by Dolce & Gabbana. The mermaid-style dress hugged her figure and flared elegantly below the knees, adorned with vertical silver embroidery, crystals and ruby-hued stones, creating a soft shimmer with every movement.

A scalloped black lace border at the neckline and hem added gothic glamour, while a black sequin belt with a silver floral motif cinched her waist. A structured black jacket layered over the gown added power-dressing appeal to the ensemble.

A video of her with Dakota Johnson at the red carpet of the film festival is trending on social media, with fans celebrating the Bollywood and Hollywood crossover.

Hours earlier, Aishwarya had appeared in a full-length black silk gown, a minimalist masterpiece priced at around Rs 5.4 lakh, also by Dolce & Gabbana. With no sequins or heavy detailing, the gown relied on silhouette and structure: soft draping sculpted the bodice, while a subtle crossover neckline defined her waist. She kept accessories minimal, pairing the dress with a striking emerald-green pendant necklace that provided a vivid pop of colour. Her soft curls, dewy skin and signature red lip completed the look, understated, yet undeniably magnetic.

Aishwarya’s contrasting looks, one ornate and couture, the other sleek and understated, speak not just to her versatility but also to her command over mood, nuance and red-carpet impact. The glittering embroidery and ornate blazer demonstrated glamour and sophistication, while the black silk gown proved that timeless elegance can be striking without extravagance.

As the Red Sea Film Festival 2025 unfolds, Aishwarya’s entrance has already set a high bar for style, grace and red-carpet presence — reminding the world yet again why she remains one of the most captivating icons in cinema and fashion today.
