Authorities introduce key deadlines for visa issuance, entry and departure ahead of preparations for the Hajj season.

Saudi Arabia has announced the official closing dates for the 2026 Umrah season, outlining strict deadlines for visa issuance, entry into the Kingdom and departure as the country prepares for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage.

According to updated guidance shared by authorities, March 19, 2026 will be the final day for issuing Umrah visas. Pilgrims wishing to perform Umrah before the Hajj season must ensure their visa applications are submitted before this date.

Officials also confirmed that April 2, 2026 will be the last day international pilgrims can enter Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa. Anyone arriving after this deadline will not be permitted to enter the country for the pilgrimage.

In addition, all Umrah pilgrims must leave Saudi Arabia by April 18, 2026, marking the official end of the season. Remaining in the country beyond this date without proper authorisation could lead to penalties or future visa complications.

The deadlines are part of Saudi Arabia’s annual schedule that ensures the Umrah season concludes before large-scale preparations begin for Hajj, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

Authorities have urged pilgrims and travel operators to carefully follow the announced timeline to avoid travel disruptions. Airlines and border authorities are expected to enforce the dates strictly, meaning travellers who miss the deadlines could be denied boarding or entry into the Kingdom.

The structured schedule is designed to help Saudi authorities manage the transition from Umrah to Hajj operations, ensuring that infrastructure, accommodation and services are ready for the millions of pilgrims expected to arrive for the annual pilgrimage later in the year.
