Riyadh Airport Launches Digital Faceprint System Trial for Passengers

A ‘Smart Travel Journey’ experiment that uses face recognition to identify their passenger's digital faceprint without the need for the boarding pass will be implemented at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Passengers will become their boarding passes by looking at SITA FacePod’s camera by SITA Smart Path. At least 20 percent of boarding time will be reduced under the new system and security will be maximized

The company said in a statement on Monday that this smart service, which is implemented in cooperation with the global company SITA, is considered as an important step to convert Riyadh airport into a smart airport to reach maximum customer satisfaction.

Riyadh Airports Company launched the experimental service for smart shopping carts earlier at the airport’s domestic terminal No. 5, thus becoming the first airport in the Kingdom to provide such a new service to its passengers.
