Saudi Arabia Ranks Second for World’s Happiest People

According to a recent Ipsos global survey, Saudi Arabia ranks as the second happiest nation in the world, with 86 percent of its residents saying they are "very or rather happy."

The survey covered 32 countries, with China taking the top spot at 91 percent and the Netherlands coming in third at 85 percent. India and Brazil were also among the top five happiest countries, with 84 percent and 83 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, the Ipsos global survey revealed that respondents from Hungary, South Korea, and Poland reported the lowest levels of happiness, ranging from 50 to 60 percent. The United States ranked in the middle of the pack, with 76 percent of its residents saying they are "very or rather happy."

The Ipsos global survey also indicated that, on average, 73 percent of people worldwide say they are "happy," marking a six-point increase from the previous year.

Among various aspects of life, people express the highest levels of satisfaction with their relationships with their family, friends, colleagues, nature, and knowledge-related areas like education and information access. However, according to the survey people are more likely to report happiness if they feel their life is meaningful, they have a sense of control over their life, they feel valued, and they are satisfied with their mental and material well-being.
