‘Makkah Route' Expanded for Hajj to Include Turkey & Ivory Coast

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior announced this weekend that the 'Makkah Route', a government program aimed at assisting Hajj pilgrims, has been expanded to include Turkey and Ivory Coast for the current year.

The Makkah Route is a government initiative designed to support Hajj pilgrims from various countries in managing visa, customs, and passport matters, along with addressing health requirements, luggage, transportation, and accommodation arrangements in Saudi Arabia.

In 2018, the Saudi authorities introduced the initiative in multiple countries, aiming to streamline travel procedures for international Hajj pilgrims. The service was initially launched in Malaysia and Indonesia, which have a significant number of Hajj pilgrims.

The initiative will now expand to serve pilgrims in seven countries which include Pakistan, Morocco and Bangladesh.

All the necessary services are provided to Hajj pilgrims from their home country or country of residence, starting from their point of departure.

Upon arrival in the kingdom, pilgrims are transported directly to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah using designated bus routes, and their luggage is delivered to where they are staying.
