Queen Rania Al Abdullah is the wife of H.M. King Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The UN Girls' Education Initiative's Honorary Chairperson and Eminent Advocate for UNICEF, Queen Rania is also a philanthropist and a supporter of causes. The Jordan River Foundation (JRF) is Queen Rania's non-governmental organization that aids underprivileged Jordanians. Additionally, Queen Rania oversees the Royal Health Awareness Society.
Queen Rania recently traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and to be represented at the launch of two exhibits focusing on Islamic customs and culture. Her Majesty performed Umrah in Mecca alongside a new batch of women from different areas in the Kingdom who represented families of security personnel who died in the line of duty, military pensioners, social advocates, and recipients of charity and cooperative organizations.
