As Hajj 2025 approaches, Saudi Arabia is taking safety to new heights—literally. The Kingdom just introduced Falcon, its first-ever AI-powered firefighting and rescue drone, set to soar into action during one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
Unveiled by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, Falcon isn’t just any drone. This beast in the skies can fly continuously for 12 hours, carry up to 40 kilograms, and comes equipped with a multi-functional firefighting system. It’s loaded with thermal cameras and live-streaming capabilities, giving command centers eyes on the ground—without putting firefighters in danger.
From high-rise blazes to chaotic crowds and hazardous zones, Falcon is engineered to step in when human crews can't. It’s fast, smart, and built for some of the toughest conditions Hajj might throw its way.
“This drone is part of a broader strategy to enhance safety,” said Major General Hamoud Al-Faraj, who also highlighted pre-event inspections, 24/7 rapid response teams, and regular emergency drills as part of Saudi Arabia’s all-in approach to Hajj readiness.
With Falcon patrolling the skies and trained personnel on standby below, Saudi Arabia is taking a bold leap into the future of emergency response—one drone flight at a time.
