Saudi to the World: It’s Time to Recognize Palestine

During a recent Cabinet meeting in Jeddah, chaired by King Salman, Saudi Arabia made a bold call: the world needs to step up and recognize the State of Palestine — and fast.

The message comes after a high-level peace conference co-led by Saudi Arabia and France, aimed at resolving the long-standing conflict and reviving the two-state solution.

Saudi Slams Israeli Moves

The Kingdom didn’t hold back on criticizing Israel, condemning the Israeli Knesset’s call to take control of the occupied West Bank. Saudi officials called it a threat to peace and a clear violation of international law.

Macron’s Move Gets a Nod

French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement to recognize Palestine was met with applause. Saudi Arabia urged other nations to follow suit, calling for global solidarity in supporting Palestinian rights.

More Than Just Politics

Aside from the Palestine spotlight, the Cabinet also talked deals — including a visit to Syria that led to 47 investment agreements worth SR24 billion ($6.4B). A joint Saudi-Syrian business council is also in the works.

Saudi Stays Busy on the Global Stage

The ministers reviewed the Kingdom’s presence in the UN High-Level Political Forum, where Saudi was named the fastest-advancing G20 country in sustainable development.

Oh, and they’re getting serious about climate tech too — launching a Direct Air Capture (DAC) pilot in Riyadh to help tackle carbon emissions.
