The 7th Edition of Tanween, Saudi Arabia’s leading

● This year’s Tanween theme “Fail Forward” invites designers to embrace an innovative
mindset when faced with creative challenges
● This year’s edition features the unveiling of the second collaborative exhibition between
Ithra and Italian design platform Isola
● Tanween continues to grow its impressive global impact with its initiatives exhibiting
across the globe including at the upcoming Dubai Design Week (5-10 November)

DHAHRAN, SAUDI ARABIA, 31 October 2024: Today, until 6 November, the seventh edition of
Saudi Arabia’s leading design conference Tanween returns to The King Abdulaziz Center for
World Culture (Ithra), transforming its Theater into a space for dynamic exchange, knowledge
sharing and cutting-edge design showcases. Inviting the global design community to “Fail
Forward”, this year’s conference explores how obstacles act as catalysts for more innovative
creations, advancing and pushing the boundaries of design practices. Through a series of
engaging panel discussions, workshops and exhibitions led by a diverse group of bold designers
and experts, Tanween will foster cross-cultural exchanges and fruitful creative opportunities,
reinforcing Ithra’s commitment to support and promote the next generation of creatives in the
region and beyond.
This year’s edition will feature inspiring designers, thought leaders, and innovators from around
the globe offering insights into their creative journeys and revealing how setbacks and
challenges enabled them to reach new breakthroughs:
Tanween Stage Speakers:
● Nawaf Nahar Al-Nassar - Founder of 3N JEDDAH Studio and member of the Saudi Art
Council. He is also the Master of Ceremony for the 2024 edition of Tanween
● Ross Lovegrove - Industrial designer whose works are featured at the MoMa and the
Centre Pompidou
