The recruitment rules for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD)'s Musaned platform for domestic labor services state that expats are not permitted to apply for a visa in order to hire domestic workers who are of the same nationality as themselves.

This was pointed out by Musaned in response to a question addressed via its X platform. According to the platform, expatriates may hire domestic staff members of other nationalities. It asked expatriates to check the following link: https://musaned.com.sa/terms/faq_reg to read the rules and regulations for recruitment and the financial requirements for obtaining visas.

For the purpose of obtaining a recruitment visa for the first time, it is noted that the minimum wage for an expatriate employee is SR10000, with proof of financial capability in the form of a bank document worth SR100,000. If a second visa is granted, the resident employee must earn at least SR 20,000 and provide documentation of their financial stability in the form of a bank balance sheet totaling SR 200,000.

When applying for a visa, expatriates and others must demonstrate their financial stability with a certificate from the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) stating their monthly pay statement, as long as the wait time is no longer than 60 days.

For household services and home employment initiatives, the ministry has made the Musaned platform its official website. It offers a number of services to enhance and streamline the hiring process. The initiative keeps an eye on and develops the domestic labor industry.
