Saudi employers will have to pay an annual fee of SR9600 for each house worker if their number exceeds four.

Expatriate employers, however, will pay SR9600 for each house worker in excess of two exempted workers.

The ministry started applying the first phase of the decision from May 22nd, 2022.

The first phase was applicable to only new house workers, who were recruited during the first year after issuance of the decision, while the second phase will be applicable for both new and existing domestic workers.

However, there is an exemption on humanitarian grounds, such as workers hired to give medical care to a family member.
