Just as we were prepared to throw away the fans and enjoy a fairly normal, if slightly unpredictable, British summer for a little while, the heat has quickly returned, according to the Met Office, an Azores high-pressure system is moving in, pushing the temperatures inland to the low 30s °C in the south. UK Health Security Agency updates confirm that a yellow heat health alert for seven days is active across most of England.
