In response to high demand during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday period, Saudia has introduced extra flights to Red Sea International Airport, making it easier for travelers to escape the city for a quick getaway. The move caters to an increase in domestic travel as Saudi Arabia’s premier destinations draw attention during the festive season.

The airline has announced 20 additional flights connecting Riyadh and Jeddah to The Red Sea destination between March 21 and March 28. These new services will bring the total number of flights on these routes to 44 over the period, offering travelers greater flexibility and convenience.

The initiative follows a collaboration between Saudia, the Saudi Tourism Authority, and Red Sea Global, a developer spearheading one of the country’s most ambitious tourism projects along its picturesque western coast.

Travelers on Saudia’s flights to The Red Sea destination can expect an integrated guest experience, which includes AI-powered tools for personalized trip planning and smoother airport procedures. Onboard, passengers will enjoy premium services blending traditional Saudi hospitality with diverse entertainment options suitable for all ages.

A Red Sea Destination Like No Other

The Red Sea project is a centerpiece of Saudi Arabia’s regenerative tourism vision. Situated 13 kilometers inland on the northwestern coast, Red Sea International Airport provides convenient access to several luxurious resorts that have already opened their doors.

Among the available properties are Desert Rock, featuring architectural suites carved into surrounding cliffs just a short drive from the airport, and Six Senses Southern Dunes, located approximately an hour away. Additional resorts such as Shebara and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, emphasize the destination’s status as a luxury hotspot.

The development also includes Shura Island, which has launched with three hotels—SLS, The Red Sea EDITION, and InterContinental—while eight more resorts are slated to open within the next year. By 2030, the destination is expected to feature 50 resorts, over 8,000 hotel keys, and 1,000 residential units across its 22 islands and six inland sites, all powered by renewable energy.

The Red Sea’s attractions go beyond its high-end accommodations. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy rounds of golf at Shura Links, while adventure seekers can explore Adrena, an entertainment hub offering over 20 land and water activities, including Saudi Arabia’s largest surf pool.

With Eid fast approaching, these additional flights may offer the perfect opportunity for a spontaneous long weekend. Whether you're looking to relax in luxury or embark on new adventures, The Red Sea destination provides unparalleled experiences for travelers seeking a refreshing escape.
