World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh Will Expand Amid Strong Demand

The organizers of the second edition of the World Defense Show (WDS), which is set to take place in Riyadh in 2024, will expand the exhibition space to accommodate more participants and visitors in response to strong demand.

The organizers have reviewed expansion plans to include a third exhibition hall to complement the two existing main halls.

Andrew Pearcey, CEO of the World Defense Exhibition, said that the venue will expand to accommodate an additional 9,000 square meters.

The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) announced on Tuesday, February 14th, that the WDS 2024 will be held from February 4th-8th.

The show serves as an ideal platform to exchange knowledge and technology in the military field.

Next year's show will offer "strategically crafted networking programs set to feature delegations, governments, global defense industry original equipment manufacturers, and investors," Pearcey said.

The WDS in 2022 witnessed the signing of several military and defense procurement deals worth SAR 29.7 billion ($7.916 million).

It also attracted more than 600 exhibitors from more than 42 countries, over 100 official defense and security delegations, and saw an attendance of more than 65,000 visitors overall during the four-day event.

This comes within the framework of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, achieving the Kingdom's goal to localize 50 percent of its military equipment spending by 2030.
