All through the days of the holy month of Ramadan, the office hours would be from 10:00 in the morning to 2:00 in the afternoon. According to the ministry, the executive regulations for human resources in the civil service require that working hours during the holy month of Ramadan not exceed five hours.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) granted ministers and others in comparable positions the right to alter the beginning and ending periods of official working hours, up to a maximum of two hours from what was specified in the law.

The purpose of granting this authority was to provide government organizations the freedom to choose when to start their working hours in accordance with the specific job requirements as well as to consider the peak traffic hours.

Government entities are required to notify their employees of the Ramadan working hours and starting and ending times prior to Sha'ban 27, or March 19, 2023.
