Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court declared that the first day of Ramadan would be on Thursday, March 23, as the crescent of Ramadan was not spotted on Tuesday. As a result, Wednesday, March 22, will be the final day of the month of Sha'aban, and the month of fasting, Ramadan will start on Thursday, March 23.
Qatar
According to Qatar News Agency, the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Qatar Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced that Wednesday, March 22, will be the last day of Sha'ban, and Thursday, March 23, will be the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
Kuwait
Kuwait has also declared that Thursday, March 23, will be the start of Ramadan.
Bahrain
Bahrain News Agency reported that the moonsighting committee in Bahrain has declared Thursday, March 23, as the first day of the month of Ramadan in the country.
For centuries, Muslims have relied on the tradition of searching for the crescent moon to establish the beginning of Ramadan, along with the two significant Islamic holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
