Prospects of opportunities in various energy fields, including renewable energy, clean hydrogen, and electricity interconnection were discussed by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman and French Minister of Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.

The MoU further encourages collaboration in the electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage, smart grids, oil and gas and their derivatives, refining, petrochemicals, and distribution and marketing sectors.

The agreement also calls for increased cooperation in technologies that mitigate the effects of climate change, such as carbon capture and hydrogen production.
