Public sector employees will be granted a two-day public holiday on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s founding day, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has confirmed.

With Founding Day falling on Wednesday, February 22nd, it was announced that Thursday, February 23rd will also be a paid holiday, making it a four-day long weekend for those included in the provisions of the executive regulations for human resources in the civil service.
This will be the second year that the kingdom celebrates Founding Day after King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a royal decree designating it as a public holiday in February 2022.
Founding Day commemorates Saudi Arabia’s founding in 1727 by Imam Mohammed Bin Saud.
