Saudi Arabia is expecting more rain toward the weekend, with heavy downpours forecast in Riyadh and surrounding areas from Friday to next Tuesday. The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) announced that May is likely to see more rainfall than usual.

Regions Affected

Rain is forecast across multiple regions, including Makkah, Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, the Eastern Province, and parts of Riyadh. Makkah and nearby areas are predicted to experience heavy showers, while the Riyadh region, including Wadi Al-Dawasir and Al-Sulayil, will see moderate rain.

Southern Regions Impacted

Southern areas like Jazan, Najran, Asir, and Al-Baha are expected to face moderate to heavy rain, with Jizan and Asir bracing for torrential rain and strong winds.

Weather Warnings and Safety Precautions

Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued weather warnings and safety instructions to residents. The Civil Defense urges people to stay cautious and follow instructions during the severe weather.

Additionally, the NCM has warned about high-speed winds that could cause sandstorms. In light of these warnings, the Civil Defense advises the public to stay home and avoid valleys and waterlogged areas.
