NCM Forecast Heavy Rain in Several Regions of KSA Until Monday

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted that several regions in the Kingdom will experience weather fluctuations from Thursday until Monday.

NCM forecasted moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms accompanied by sandstorms of speed no more than 50 km/hour, hail, torrential rain, and poor visibility in various parts of the country. 

The regions of Asir, Al-Baha, Jazan and Najran are expected to be hit by moderate to intense thunderstorms, while their impact will be experienced in the governates of Al-Sulail and Wadi Al-Dawasir on Thursday and Friday. 

For most of the governates of Riyadh and in many parts of Makkah, NCM has predicted moderate thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, while the impact of this storm will be felt in the regions of Hail, Riyadh, Qassim, Eastern Province, and in the Rafha governorate in the Northern Borders region on Thursday and Friday.

The eastern parts of Tabuk and Makkah, as well as Hail, Al Jouf, Northern Borders region, Riyadh, Al Qassim, and Eastern Province (eastern parts), will witness sandstorms with speeds over 50 km/h on Thursday.  

This weather is expected to lead to very little horizontal visibility and waves are expected to rise more than 2.5 m in the coastal cities and their intensity is expected to increase on Saturday and Sunday. 

Tabuk, Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders will experience a decrease in temperatures, with the lowest temperature ranging from 2 to 5 degrees Celsius from Thursday to Saturday. 

The NCM has requested the public to follow weather updates through its media platforms and to follow instructions issued by related authorities.
