Noor Riyadh 2023, orchestrated by the Royal Commission of Riyadh City, has once again made history by securing six new Guinness World Records during its third consecutive festival, held from November 30 to December 16. With immersive installations across the capital's five main hubs, this light celebration drew nearly 3 million attendees.

Setting New Records

The festival's breathtaking displays captured additional world records, expanding its tally to an impressive 14 Guinness World Records over three years. The festival has not only shone a light on Riyadh but also on the city's artistic and cultural essence.

Dazzling Displays and Achievements

In an awe-inspiring showcase, German interaction designer Christopher Bauder's "DIALOGUE" lit up Riyadh's iconic Al-Faisaliyah Tower and Kingdom Tower with an overwhelming light spectacle, securing two records for the most lights in a single building and the most lights used in a temporary light and sound show.

Studio Drift's "Desert Swarm" crafted the largest drone bird swarm with 3,000 drones, simultaneously achieving the record for the most drones launched in a week.

Artistic Marvels and Creativity

French artist Miguel Chevalier's "Magic Carpet, Origin of the World" amazed viewers with the largest interactive projection-mapped display, while Yinka Ilori's "Block Cubes" transformed into the world's largest temporary skate park, showcasing innovative approaches to light-based installations.

The Exhibition and Legacy

Curated under the theme "The Bright Side of the Desert Moon" by Jerome Sans, Pedro Alonzo, Fahad bin Naif, and Alaa Tarabzouni, the festival explored light's unifying essence in times of seclusion, spanning various districts and parks across Riyadh.
