Red Bull's Max Verstappen Tops F1 Second Practice Session in Jeddah

Red Bull Dutch driver Max Verstappen continued to set the pace in Jeddah in the second practice session for Formula 1, as the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2023 kicked off on Friday at the Corniche Circuit, the fastest street track ever in F1.

Verstappen topped the timesheets in the second practice session, placing ahead of Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez.

The Dutch driver, who also topped the timesheets in the first practice, set a time of 1m 29.603s.

"Solid first day, feeling good," Verstappen wrote in an Instagram post.

Alonso came 0.208s behind at 1m 29.811s, while Verstappen's teammate Perez came 0.299s behind at 1m 29.902s.

Jeddah is hosting the F1 race for the third time this weekend, coming second in the F1 calendar for 2023 after the race in Bahrain.

Twenty drivers from ten teams are ready to compete for the title. 

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Was held for the first time in Jeddah in 2021, making it the 33rd country to host a Formula One Grand Prix. 

Verstappen snatched the title from his rivals at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir earlier this month.
