Saudi Will Soon Have Its First International Music Academy

The Nahawand Center, Saudi Arabia's first-ever international music academy, has been officially launched in Taif through a collaboration agreement between the Nahawand Academy of Arts and the renowned Gnesins Russian Academy of Music. The agreement signifies an important milestone in the development of the music sector in Saudi Arabia.

Partnership with Gnesins Academy

The Gnesins Academy, a prestigious institution based in Moscow, stands as one of Russia's foremost international music academies with branches across the globe, including in the United States, Britain, and France. Established over a century ago, it holds a distinguished position as one of the oldest music academies globally, bringing a wealth of expertise and experience to the partnership.

Vision 2030 Integration

Dr. Abdullah Rashad, the general supervisor of the Nahawand Center, emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives. It aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of music professionals in the country, nurture talent, and bolster the music sector's contribution to the economy, in addition to creating employment opportunities.

Comprehensive Partnership

Ahmed Al-Shamrani, executive director of Nahawand, outlined the comprehensive nature of the partnership, which includes the establishment of educational and training programs, accreditation of international certificates, exchange programs for students and faculty, joint academic endeavors, and cultural exchanges between Saudi Arabia and Russia.

Event Highlights

The inauguration ceremony featured traditional performances, including the Majrour dance of Taif, and an art exhibition showcasing local talent. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the academy's facilities and witness performances by Nahawand students, demonstrating the vibrancy and potential of Saudi Arabia's music scene.
