WATCH: The First Coin Design Featuring King Charles III

Britain issued the first designs for a British coin bearing the image of King Charles III looking to the left, in contrast to the direction that his mother, Queen Elizabeth, looks at in current coins, but he does not put a crown on his head, like previous kings, and unlike his mother.

King Charles has approved his image in the coin, where coin collectors can buy it while the markets will start circulating it before the end of this year.

The denominations of the coin included fifty pence, and a denomination of 5 pounds, engraved with the same image, with writing in Latin surrounding it.

Coins from the denomination of one penny to two pounds will also bear the same image, while the Director General of the Royal Mint indicated that the use of coins lasts 20 years, so coins bearing the image of Queen Elizabeth and King Charles III will continue to be circulated for other years.
