The Saudi Cup 2024: World’s Richest Racing Weekend Returns to Riyadh

The prestigious Saudi Cup 2024 is thundering back to Riyadh, promising an electrifying showcase of the world's top racehorses and jockeys. Mark your calendars for Friday, February 23rd, to Saturday, February 24th, 2024, as King Abdulaziz Racetrack prepares to host the fifth edition of this illustrious event.

With a staggering $37.35 million in prizes up for grabs, this annual horse racing extravaganza is set to captivate audiences from around the globe.

The Saudi Cup 2024 is divided into two thrilling challenges: the International Jockeys Challenge on Friday, February 23rd, and the main event, the Saudi Cup, on Saturday, February 24th.

Among the highlights of this year's Saudi Cup is the Al Mneefah Cup, a prestigious Purebred Arabian race boasting a staggering $1.5 million prize in Group 1 category, a significant increase from last year's $1 million reward. Additionally, both the NEOM Turf Cup and the 1351 Turf Sprint have been elevated to Group 2 status, each offering a hefty purse of $2 million.

The Saudi Cup spans two action-packed days, featuring a total of 16 races, each offering substantial grand prizes. Since its inception in 2020, this premier racing event has attracted the crème de la crème of racehorses, jockeys, trainers, and owners to compete on the world stage in the heart of Riyadh. As the 2024 races approach, anticipation is building for another unforgettable edition.

Excitingly, the prize money for the Local Handicap race on Saturday, February 24th, has been boosted to $1.5 million, while the International Handicap has been shifted to the same day, adding even more thrills to Saudi Cup night with a total of nine races.
