Al Hilal Signs Three-Year Deal with Moroccan Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou

Yassine Bounou, a goalkeeper from Morocco, has joined Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal on a three-year deal after leaving Spanish club Sevilla.

Al Hilal published a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, "The Atlantic lion is our goalie."

The agreement's terms were not made public, but according to Spanish media, Al Hilal would pay €21 million ($22.8 million).

The 32-year-old Bounou was Sevilla's first-choice goalkeeper and helped Morocco advance to the World Cup quarterfinals in Doha last year while also helping the Spanish team win two Europa League championships.

According to reports, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were interested in Bounou, also known as Bono, as a temporary replacement for Thibaut Courtois and Manuel Neuer who were injured.

Al Hilal, the most successful club in Asia and Saudi Arabia, has won 66 trophies, including four Asian Champions League championships and 18 domestic league victories.
