Saudi Arabia follows the pattern of the desert climate, apart from the southwest, which features a semi-arid climate. Even though KSA follows a desert climate, the weather is not always hot and the kingdom experiences four distinct seasons.  

Spring in Saudi – March to June  

The Spring season in Saudi Arabia starts from March to June. Central and southern regions are the warmest during spring, averaging around 20 degrees after nightfall. While in the north, the weather can be brisk where the temperature at night can drop below 15 degrees C. Rainfall is possible in Saudi during spring especially in the central region and the southwest over Asir Mountains. 

Summer in Saudi – June to September  

Summer is hot in Saudi Arabia, where temperature can increase to reach 45 degrees C or more in the afternoon, but summer is mild in the southwest of Saudi. 

Autumn in Saudi – September to December  

You will enjoy gentler weather and cool breezes during the Autumn in KSA in both Saudi Arabia’s northern regions and the southwestern highlands. Temperatures during Autumn in KSA remain warm and can reach the 30s in early fall, while evenings are milder.  

Winter in Saudi – December – March  

Winter is the best time in the year to visit Saudi Arabia and explore its wonderful cities, where temperatures are in the teens. During winter in Saudi Arabia, snow can fall in the mountains of the northern regions blanketing the slopes and desert sands.
