Bahrain secured major victories at the King Salman Camel Festival 2026 in Riyadh, as camels owned by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa delivered standout performances at one of the Gulf region’s most prestigious heritage sporting events.
Held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the annual festival—officially known as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival—brought together elite camel owners, breeders, and trainers from across the Gulf.
Bahraini camels claim top podium finishes
The Bahraini camel “Sayaf” claimed first place in the festival’s second round, while “Azoum” followed with another first-place finish in the third round. The results reinforced Bahrain’s growing presence in competitive camel racing and highlighted the country’s rising profile in regional heritage sports.
Shaikh Nasser praises preparation and performance
Commenting on the achievements, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, described the wins as a reflection of sustained preparation, advanced breeding standards, and professional training practices adopted by Bahraini participants.
He noted that the results demonstrate Bahrain’s progress in camel racing, positioning its competitors among the leading contenders in Gulf heritage sports.

Shaikh Nasser also underlined the importance of the King Salman Camel Festival in preserving cultural traditions while providing a high-level competitive platform for elite participants from across the region.
