Grand Mosque to Facilitate Movement of Pilgrims in the New Expansion

The General Presidency are preparing plans to facilitate the movement of worshippers in the Grand Mosque of Makkah's new expansion.

These preparations are being carried out for the northern expansion of the Grand Mosque in order to provide excellent services to pilgrims and worshippers. 

The new expansion has 120 prayer areas, which are equipped with a system of field services and human cadres.

There are also many gates assigned to access these prayer areas. Worshippers can enter these areas through gates 104, 106, 112, 173, 175, and 176 from the northern side. They can also enter through gates 114, 116, 119, 121, and 123 from the western side, or through gates 162, 165, and 169 from the eastern side. 

The presidency is also providing basic services in all available spaces such as 72 washrooms for people with special needs. Furthermore, 675 marble stations (mashrabiya), 362 escalators, and 26 elevators are also available for pilgrims and worshippers for easier movement around the mosque. 

The presidency has also properly equipped 4,800 washrooms and provided 22,000 carpets and 12,000 Zamzam water containers for use by all.
