Riyadh ranked first in the issuance of electronic commerce records in Saudi Arabia until the end of June 2023, with 14,026 records, according to the commerce ministry’s business sector bulletin.

Generally speaking, the issuance of e-commerce records has increased by 21 percent in the Kingdom until the end of the second quarter of this year, with 35,314 records.

Following Riyadh, Makkah comes with 9,080 records, followed by Al-Sharqiyah with 5,699, then Al-Qassim with 1,204, and Asir with 1,080.

This comes as a result of the ministry’s efforts to enhance the e-commerce business system, which has an important role in strengthening the national economy.

Saudi Arabia is one of the top 10 growing countries in the field of e-commerce with a percentage exceeding 32 percent.

E-commerce is considered an open market around the clock. It also saves time and effort for the online shoppers to reach all the commodities and services they need.
