As part of the commission's World Heritage Day events which were recently held at the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre in Riyadh, the Heritage Commission set a record in the Guinness Book of Records.

The new world record was for having the longest phrase written on a piece of artwork made up of 6,088 Saudi Khawlani coffee beans. The phrase written was “Heritage Commission.”

Guinness World Records approved the artwork as having a record length, and it was on display at the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh where the commission's representatives received their official certificate.

One of the most widely recognized coffee varieties is the Saudi Khawlani, which has been linked to the poetry, folk music, habits, and economy of those who live there. It is the eighth item to be added to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) representative list of intangible cultural heritage.

One of the largest worldwide consumers of coffee, Saudi Arabia has set as one of its goals for Saudi Vision 2030 to become self-sufficient in coffee production.
