The match was played at King Fahd Sports City stadium in Ta'if, Saudi Arabia.

The game remained scoreless until six minutes into the second half when Al-Hilal's Michael put his side ahead with a free header.

Ronaldo cancelled out Michael's opener in the 74th minute into the match, then he scored again in the first half of extra time to seal his first trophy since his lucrative move.

However, following his 98th-minute winner, Ronaldo was forced to leave the field of play in the 115th minute as he could be seen writhing on the floor in pain with an apparent injury.

"Extremely proud to helped the team winning this important trophy for the 1st time!

Thank you to everyone in the club that was involved in this great achievement and to my familly and friends for always being by my side!
Fantastic support by our fans! This also belongs to you!💛💙," Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
