Following the devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday, killing over 1,000 people and leaving thousands more homeless, Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up his hotel in Marrakech to those in need.

The Pestana CR7 Marrakech, a luxury hotel owned by Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo, provides shelter to victims of the recent earthquake in Morocco, according to multiple media reports.

“Now we have managed to get Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel, which is on the outskirts, to give us a room,” Irene Seixas, a Spanish national, was quoted as saying by the Spanish daily newspaper Marca.

The four-star hotel has opened its doors to earthquake survivors, waiving its standard entry requirements.

The death toll from the earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday has risen to over 2,000. The number of people injured in the earthquake has also increased to over 2,000, with over 1,400 people in critical condition.
