The terminal area will be expanded to 65,000 square meters. The first phase of expansion is expected to be completed by 2028.

The expansion will include the construction of airbridges, self-service facilities for streamlined procedures, and high-capacity parking areas.

The airport's capacity will increase to accommodate 13 million passengers annually.

The expansion will also allow the airport to manage more than 90,000 flights per year.

These developments will allow the Abha airport to attract more tourists to the Asir region.

The expansion of the Abha airport will help achieve the Asir development and aviation strategies that will align with the Saudi Vision 2030 by increasing air connectivity to 250 destinations.
