Saudi Arabia’s top leaders, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, have extended their condolences following the deadly crash of an Air India passenger flight in Ahmedabad, India.
The aircraft, which was en route to London, went down just minutes after take-off on Thursday, June 12. Out of the 242 people onboard, only one survived. The crash occurred in a residential area, claiming the lives of both passengers and residents.

Messages of sympathy
In separate messages to Indian President Droupadi Murmu, the Saudi leaders expressed sorrow and solidarity with the people of India.
King Salman shared his grief, saying he was deeply saddened to hear about the plane crash that led to the loss of many lives. He offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished for the quick recovery of those injured.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman echoed the King’s sentiments, also offering sincere sympathy to the victims’ families and wishing those injured a fast recovery.
India continues recovery efforts
The crash has drawn global attention and condolences from world leaders. Rescue operations are ongoing in Ahmedabad as officials work to identify victims and investigate what caused the fatal accident.
