Broadway Musical The Phantom of the Opera is Coming to Riyadh

The longest-running Broadway musical, The Phantom of the Opera, is coming to Riyadh with a thrilling tale of love, romance, and horror.

The 37-year-old play will be coming to life at The Arena Riyadh Venue for Exhibitions, yet no official dates have been confirmed yet.

The play is based on the classic 1910 horror novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux that tells the story of intense unrequited love.

The story revolves around a musical genius known to the world as The Phantom who lingers in the shadows of the Paris Opera House as he falls in love with a young soprano, Christine. Christine, however, is in love with Raoul. 

The plot then follows a tale of romance, obsession, suspense and mystery.

The musical first opened in London's West End in 1986 and has since won over 70 major theatre awards.

It hosted over 13,900 performances on Broadway, and has been watched by more than 160 million people worldwide.
