Jeddah Historic Half Marathon to Take Runners on a Journey in Al Balad

The Jeddah Historic Half Marathon returns to the iconic district of Al Balad on Saturday, March 2nd. This unique event offers participants the opportunity to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site while challenging themselves in a thrilling half-marathon race.

Starting at 6am from the historic Bab Jadid gate, runners will embark on a 21.1-kilometer journey through the heart of Jeddah's historical district. The route winds through narrow alleys and past vibrant markets, offering glimpses of iconic landmarks and traditional architecture along the way.

Participants will pass by Nassif House, an exquisite example of traditional Hijazi architecture, and the Al-Matbouli Museum, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of the city. The route also includes sights like the Al-Juffali Mosque, renowned for its stunning Islamic design, and the majestic King Fahd Fountain, a symbol of modern Jeddah.

Available in four categories, the Jeddah Historic Half Marathon caters to runners of all ages and abilities. The 21.1-kilometer half-marathon is open to participants aged 18 and above, while the 10-kilometer race welcomes those above 12. Younger participants, as well as families, can join in the 4-kilometer and 1-kilometer races, creating an inclusive atmosphere for all.

After crossing the finish line back at Bab Jadid, runners can unwind and celebrate their achievements at the race village, where a variety of family-friendly activities, food trucks, and live entertainment await. It's a chance to soak in the vibrant atmosphere and connect with fellow participants in a festive setting.
