A total of 4.8 million pilgrims visited Saudi Arabia for Umrah since the beginning of the Islamic Year.

Nearly Five Million Foreign Pilgrims Arrive for Umrah in Saudi Arabia

A total of 4.8 million pilgrims have visited Saudi Arabia for Umrah (small pilgrimage) since the beginning of the Islamic year on July 30th, 2022, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. 

According to the Ministry's statistics, as of February 14th, 2023, some 4,329,349 pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia for Umrah through airports.

A total of 507,430 came to the Kingdom through border points of Jadeeda Arar, Al-Haditha, Halat Ammar, Al-Wadiah, the Empty Quarter, Al-Batha, Salwa, King Fahd Causeway, Al-Raqi, Durra, and Al-Khafji. Only 3,985 pilgrims came to the kingdom through seaports. 

Among the total number of foreign pilgrims that arrived in the country, 1,351,731 pilgrims came through the Prince Muhammad International Airport in Madinah, which constitutes 31% of the total arrivals, while 11,132 arrived through the Prince Abdul Mohsin bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Yanbu.

The total number of pilgrims present in the country for Umrah has reached 582,613, according to the Ministry's data.
