Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed multiple drones targeting the Shaybah oil field early Monday, the Ministry of Defense confirmed.

Several drones neutralized in Empty Quarter

Ministry spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki said that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed drones heading toward the Shaybah field in the Empty Quarter.

  • One drone was destroyed en route to Shaybah.

  • Another drone was intercepted east of the Al-Jouf Region.

  • Four additional drones were shot down in the Empty Quarter, all targeting Shaybah.

  • Two more drones were intercepted in separate incidents while flying toward the facility.

  • One more drone was also neutralized, preventing any damage to the oil field.

Facility remains secure

Saudi authorities said that all drones were destroyed before reaching the oil field, and no damage or casualties have been reported. The Shaybah oil facility remains secure, with operations continuing as normal.
