Stopover Transit Visa Services Launched by Saudi Arabia

The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia launched an electronic service on Monday that would, starting on January 30, enable travelers who are stopping over in the country to obtain an entry visa by air for any purpose.

The Saudi Press Agency said, citing sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the visa is free and will be granted immediately along with the flight ticket which permits travelers to enter Saudi Arabia with the intention of performing Umrah, going to the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, and exploring the country.

Travelers will be able to apply for a transit visa using Saudia Airlines' and Flynas' electronic platforms as part of the new service. The validity of the visas is for three months, and they allow holders to stay in Saudi Arabia for four days.

The ministry declares that the digital Transit Visa service will strengthen the Kingdom's position and capitalize on its enviable strategic location connecting multiple different parts of the world, helping it achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
