Saudi Arabia to Launch Largest Radio Telescope in Middle East

The Saudi Amateur Radio Society has completed its preparations to launch the largest radio telescope in the Middle East, in the city of Hail, with a diameter of 20 meters.

The telescope is being calibrated and tested before it is linked to the radio telescope system.

It will be sited at the astronomical observatory in Mashar National Park.

His Highness Prince Badr bin Fahd bin Faisal, president of the association, said that the project comes in line Saudi Vision 2030 goals of sustainable development, digital transformation and attracting investments in the fields of technology and innovation.
