Starting November 18, 2026, Saudi Arabia will require private sports centers and gyms to localize 12 key jobs, including sports coaches, personal trainers, football coaches, and athletics coaches. Establishments with four or more employees must meet a 15% Saudization rate, ensuring more opportunities for male and female Saudi citizens.
What This Means for Workers
The initiative is designed to improve the quality and professionalism of private sports services while giving locals access to attractive, productive job opportunities across the Kingdom.

Support Programs for Businesses
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, will provide support programs covering recruitment, training, qualification, employment, and job retention. Establishments will also have priority access to HADAF programs and other localization incentives.
Compliance Is Key
A procedural guide with full details of the Saudization requirements and target professions is available on the MHRSD website. Non-compliance may result in legal penalties, so businesses are encouraged to plan ahead and take advantage of support programs.
