Diriyah launches mosque design competition for Saudi students

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) introduced a mosque design competition, allowing promising young Saudi architects a chance to demonstrate their skills and contribute to the city's architectural scene, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Saudi students can construct two mosques in the Najdi architectural style utilising traditional building techniques and materials from the region, either individually or in groups of three to five.

The DGDA also encourages contestants to include sustainable building methods in their ideas.

Registration will run until July 25th from here.

A special committee will choose the top ten entries that best represent Diriyah's spirit and rich cultural history.

These submissions will then be assessed by a jury of experts from the public and commercial sectors.

the committee will select the three best competitors and offer them financial rewards.
