Cinema Nights Return to Diriyah Biennale

Get ready for a cinematic journey like no other as Diriyah Biennale's beloved Cinema Nights make a triumphant return. Presented by the Red Sea Film Festival and Diriyah Biennale Foundation, this cultural spectacle will light up the screens at Diriyah's trendy JAX District every Thursday from April 18th to May 23rd.

For six weeks, cinephiles can immerse themselves in a diverse lineup of documentaries, dramas, and original feature films, all with English and Arabic subtitles. From captivating narratives to thought-provoking themes, each screening promises to be an unforgettable experience.

The inaugural edition of Cinema Nights took place in Jeddah in 2021, showcasing exclusive Saudi features and short films across various genres. Now, back for its second edition, the event continues its mission to celebrate emerging talents, both local and international.

The series kicked off with 'Nocturnes' on April 18th, a mesmerizing documentary exploring climate change through the lens of moths. Up next on April 25th is 'After the Long Rains,' a poignant tale set in Kenya following the aspirations of a young girl named Aisha.

Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated screening of 'Norah' on May 2nd, a compelling story set in rural Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, where a young woman seeks freedom through art. Then, on May 16th, prepare to be moved by 'Thiiird,' which delves into the struggles of characters at a Beirut garage.

Closing the series on May 23rd is 'Iraq's Invisible Beauty,' a poignant documentary honoring the legacy of the father of Iraqi photography.

Tickets for this cinematic extravaganza are available online at biennale.org.sa for SAR35. Don't miss your chance to be part of this cultural celebration under the stars.
