KSA Launches New Passport Stamp to Mark Launch of Saudi Crew in Space

A special seal under the name "Saudi Arabia Toward Space" has been launched to decorate the passports of Saudi travellers upon their departure from the Kingdom's airports.

The new seal was launched by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, represented by the Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat), in cooperation with the Saudi Space Commission.

The stamp will be available to travellers through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

The "Saudi Arabia Toward Space" campaign aims to boost the country's position in the field of space globally, and its contribution to international space activities.

On Monday, the first Arab female astronaut, Rayyanah Barnawi, waved adieu to the crew of the International Space Station (ISS).

Ahead of leaving ISS after 10-day mission, the Saudi Barnawi began her farewell speech in Arabic, when she thanked UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, who is also aboard the ISS.

Barnawi and her colleague Ali Al Qarni successfully launched on board a Space X Falcon 9 rocket towards the ISS on Sunday, May 21st at 5:37 p.m. (EDT time).
