KSA Launches New Company to Reduce Smoking Prevalence in the Country

Saudi Arabia has launched a new company Badael, which will produce and distribute tobacco-free products to reduce the prevalence of smoking in the Kingdom.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) made the announcement on Thursday, May 25th, in the run-up to the World Health Organization (WHO) World No Tobacco Day on May 31st.

The initiative aims to promote a healthier lifestyle among citizens and residents in the country and aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The PIF said that tobacco-free products will be available across the country by the end of 2023. The company hopes to expand its reach to regional and international markets in the longer term.

Badael products are expected to help almost one million people switch from smoking by 2032. The tobacco-free products will be completely manufactured in Saudi Arabia.
