KSA Launches 1st Digital Platform to Educate About Seismic Hazards

Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), representing Saudi Arabia, launched the Geological Risk Base Platform on Tuesday, the first digital platform in the country designated to educate people about the hazards of natural calamities.

Important seismic data that will be helpful to the local community will be available through the portal.

The portal was inaugurated by the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SGS Bandar Alkhorayef at a launch ceremony, which was held alongside the 44th meeting of the authority's Board of Directors.

Spokesman of SGS Tariq Aba Al-Khail explained the objective of launching this digital portal: to provide the public with access to a digital page that includes all seismic data and maps of Saudi Arabia. The portal will also be helpful to scientists and researchers as they can use the data from the portal for research.
