Saudi Arabia To Send Air Bridge of Aid to Morocco Earthquake Victims

The Saudi King and Crown Prince have ordered the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) to operate an air bridge to provide relief supplies to the victims of the earthquake in Morocco, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor to the Saudi Royal Court and general supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), said that the directives to send aid were issued by the King and Crown Prince out of their keenness to stand by the affected Moroccan people and mitigate the effects of the devastating earthquake.

The earthquake, which struck near Marrakech city on Friday night, has killed more than 2,100 people and injured thousands more. Al-Rabeeah said that the aid will include food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies.

The Saudi search and rescue team and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority will be sent to Morocco to help with the relief effort and rescue those who are trapped under the rubble.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah thanked the King and Crown Prince for their generous gesture, which is an extension of Saudi Arabia's long history of providing humanitarian assistance to those in need.
