Al Ula Initiates Biggest Campaign to Resettle Wild Animals

The biggest campaign to resettle over 1,580 wild animals has been initiated by The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU).

The campaign includes many animals, such as antelopes, gazelles, Arabian oryx as well as mountain ibex in three nature reserves in the governorate.

RCU initiated the largest campaign of its kind, as it involves deciding if the location is prepared, and observing the resettled animals, along with paying attention on scientific studies during the arrangements for the resettling campaign.

As part of this new initiative, the commission is going to use a collar of light material fueled by solar energy for hoofed animals, for the first time in the area.

The commission's campaign came in alignment with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, along with the Saudi Green Initiative and the Green Middle East Initiative, with the goal of turning AlUla into the biggest living museum internationally while protecting its environmental and historical features.
